Conversation with a Friend

Awww, how cute! Jim-Jim’s shooting the breeze with his dear friend Elmo. Or so it seems at first glance. Let me give you the mommy interpretation. Much like when Jim-Jim says, “I gump.” Mommy knows heĀ really means, “I’m about to jump off something really, really high, so won’t you get 911 on the phone, hon?”

Here’s the run-down:
Jim-Jim thinks Elmo is going to take his prized toy car so he says, “No, no, no, Elmo!” while protecting his toy car by pulling it closer to his chest. Then he proceeds to tell Elmo to go outside and get his grubby red paws off his toys, toys that aren’t actually his because we were visiting his cousins’ house. Once he realizes Elmo isn’t going outside, he looks longingly out the window and tries to figure out a way to toss Elmo outside through shattered glass. So you see, before you oooh and awww at the boy, run it through the mommy filter first. You may decide to try to convince me to put the boy in therapy instead of pinching his squishy, rosy cheeks.
